You never said goodbye, but did say see you later. Why? You drove so crazy and was in such a hurry, but for what? Those last few drinks that I begged you to put down, why didn't you listen? Now you are gone from me! You have left me here to be the responsible one. I never told you that night about what we had created together. I was too afraid. You were going places and making a name for yourself, but I was stuck here, in our home town, with all of the shattered pieces of what you left behind. I will do the best that I can in your absence, but please understand that I am human and I know that I will make mistakes. When you see my secret, will you be angry? When you look and see yourself in someone else, will you hate me? Even though you are no longer here, I still have you with me everyday. Thank you for that small miracle!
